Canberra Blues Society records its gratitude for the efforts that some individuals have put into the life and growth of the Society. Each of our life members has made special contributions and our Society would not be where it is without their efforts over the years.
Bucky, through his company Lone Wolf Productions was a long-term ally as well as a member of the Canberra Blues Society and he was a driver of the Canberra blues and roots scene in general. He organized joint events with the CBS at both the Harmonie German Club and later at the Austrian Club where he provided many opportunities for local blues acts. He was instrumental in initiating and running the Pro Jam at the Harmonie German Club which was later taken over by the Canberra Blues Society. CBS and the Canberra blues scene owed much to Bucky’s energy and influence during his life. His popular appointment as a life member reflected the gratitude and the esteem in which he was held by the musicians and other members of the CBS.
Kerry Sattler (known as K2) has for many years been the Events Coordinator, Newsletter Editor, Membership Officer, Publicity Officer, Accountant, chief networker and general organizer for the Canberra Blues Society. Her extensive knowledge of and contacts within the Australian Blues and Roots Scene has meant CBS has had easy access to the cream of Australia’s talent in this area. She has been an office bearer on the committee. Her popular appointment as a life member was inevitable.
Kerry Scarlet (known as K1) joined the CBS with K2 and provided solid support to both her and to the CBS in general. He attended virtually every event as a volunteer setting up and packing down and he has assisted K2 with Poster distribution, and innumerable other errands in service of CBS over the years. His popular appointment as a life member reflects his constancy and demonstrated willingness to help.
