Presidential Musing – January 2020

As I write this, fellow Blues lovers, Christmas with all its shopping bustle and late-night parties has come and gone. It’s that bit between Christmas and New Year that I love. It’s quiet and relaxed. A time to sit back, unwind and work out what’s happening for the coming year. Except not this year. To those of you who’ve personally been affected or have friends or family affected by the ongoing bushfires, I offer my sympathy and my hope that it all ends soon.

The December jam was a great success and I’d like to thank all the fantastic volunteers that helped to make it so successful, particularly John Van Buuren for taking over as chief spruiker and jam master on the day. Thanks also to those who contributed gifts and donations to the Marymead giving tree. They were greatly appreciated.

The CBS is on holidays for January so no jam or workshop this month.

There is however a big event happening on 11th January from 2pm until late at the Austrian Club in Mawson.

The annual Bucky’s Budweiser Big Birthday Bash & ALOHA! Blues & Roots Charity Gig will be on again! A great line up of acts has been scheduled and the proceeds go to Bucky’s favourite local charity ‘Rise Above Capital Region Cancer Support Group”’ Entry is a $5 donation with fabulous raffles drawn throughout the day (Don’t forget your Hawaiian shirts!)
