Presidential Musing – October 2019

Howdy doody Blues lovers!

Well, the blues jam for September went spectacularly well! Especially considering only a few days before we were left without a PA or lights! I want to thank the Guitar Cases for not only providing themselves as host band, but also for furnishing the PA and lights that would otherwise have been missing! Great show!

I had the honour of being the gatekeeper at the Canberra Blues Society Jam Workshop the other evening. What a fantastic night! Rick and his band of learned… um… well, band are so good at showing how the music works, and how the band communicates while playing, we all learnt something new! No matter what your age or instrument persuasion, there’s something to be gained from the Jam Workshop, first Wednesday of the month at the HGC down in the Keller Bar.

The CBS AGM is now on the 30th October. As we have quite a few committee members leaving, these positions must be filled if the CBS is to continue existing. If you can help us in any way, please contact myself or K1 to let us know.

We’re still taking volunteers for the Knuckles stall at Oktoberfest. If you can donate any time over the weekend, you could possibly win lotto or have a happy and productive life. You’ll also be helping out the CBS which will be appreciated till the end of time!
