‘Tis the season… Well. It was bound to happen! It’s December. Time for parties and the last jam for the year. That was quick!
The November jam went off like a cracker! Thanks to Key Grip Lite for hosting the jam. Leo and the boys and girl did a great job as usual and had everyone tapping their feet and dancing. Even I performed a mild jig, though it probably looked more like a convulsion. After the hosting came the jammers. A little bit of confusion on the white board but all sorted in the end. I’d like to thank Gavin Kelly for stepping up to run the jam. A job well done.
As it is the season, the CBS Friday Night Live Xmas party was held last Friday at the HGC hosted by Blues Roulette featuring Ben Wicks, Kate Madden, Sammy Owen, Frank Sultana, Ross Ward and our very own legend Mitch Preston on the skins. Unfortunately I couldn’t make it but by all accounts it was a ripper night, with a packed dance floor & a very late finish.
The December Xmas Party Jam is on this Sunday and will be hosted by Michelle Van der Meers Midnight Ramblers. There’ll be a giving tree for Marymead, so if you can bring something to put under it, you’ll make a kid very happy for Xmas (cash donations also greatly appreciated). There will also be a member’s lucky draw prize and treats on the tables & a fabulous Xmas hamper raffle. A great way to start the countdown to Xmas!
Don’t forget that Bucky’s Big Budweiser Birthday Bash is on Saturday 11 January. Kicks off around 2pm with a fantastic line-up. $5 entry donation to Rise Above Capital Region Cancer Relief. Raffle prize draws throughout the day.
We’ve locked in our two host bands at the Goulburn Club in February at the Australian Blues Music Festival. Muddy Wolf will host Friday night Jam and Dean Edgecombe & the Seventh Sons will host Saturday night Jam. We need volunteers to help look after the merchandise and front desk. So if you’re planning on going to the festival and can help out for an hour or two, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Hope you have a great December and safe holidays! ˆ
