Canberra Blues Society Jam hosted by the Guitar Cases
September 15 @ 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm
The Guitar Cases host CBS September Blues Jam.
Outlaw country blues from our region’s hardest working prison house band.
Thank goodness the blues jam is on during the day, and the Warden has agreed to a day release for The Guitar Cases band. Mitch Preston agreed to transport them from Goulburn to the Harmonie German Club, so he thought he may as well join them on drums as well!
‘Outlaw country blues with folk and rock influence’ —that’s the description of their music used at the last few festivals that they’ve played. Their latest CD Corrugated Blues has 12 original songs delivered with a range of instruments including resonator, electric, cigar box and acoustic guitars; harmonica, bass, pennywhistle and cajone.
The Guitar Cases write songs about the environment, the follies of crime, a bit of politics (ok they ARE based in Canberra), the very occasional love song and anything else that hits them in the guts as a story that needs telling.
Andy Daniels – vocals/resonator guitar
Andrew Tatnell – electric guitar/cigar box guitar/pennywhistle
Ang Perusco – harmonica/acoustic guitar/vocals
Lawrence Dowsett – bass
Mitch Preston – drums
The host band will be followed by some of the finest musicians in the region jamming together for a fabulous afternoon of live blues music.
Invite your family, invite your friends and don’t forget your dancing shoes.
